Parks and gardens
For a relaxing afternoon, reading a book, going for a stroll, playing sports, or simply for enjoyment:
Beaches
Barcelona has 6 beaches which cover more than 4 km of shoreline and make up another of the city’s attractions. They are also well connected to the centre. You can enjoy the beaches throughout the year as they are fully equipped with sports facilities.
From east to west: San Sebastián Beach and Barceloneta Beach, where you can find a municipal thalassotherapy centre, Nueva Icaria Beach, Bogatell beach, Mar Bella beach and Nova Mar Bella beach, with an area reserved for naturists.
Nightlife
The coastal strip is one of the city’s most popular recreation areas. It stretches from the Moll de Fusta up to the Palau de Mar vicinity, passing by the Rambla de Mar and the Olympic Port areas.
To experience and enjoy the night, all you have to do is make the choice that best suits you. On Paseo de Gracia and in Poble Nou you’ll find that more alternative and local people gather in the bars and clubs, while the more chic and elite crowd go to Sant Gervasi and Tibidabo. Tourists opt for the El Raval area, Barrio Gótico, Poble Espanyol, Maremagnum and Port Olimpic.
In recent years, the Eixample area has become established as one of the most popular gay areas among young people.
